Gelatin plays a role as a binder and ingredient in the manufacturing of health products. It is a natural protein that can dissolve naturally at human temperature, mainly including soft capsules, plasma substitutes, and coatings.


Most capsules are made of gelatin. There are various types of gelatin. Capsules are made of pharmaceutical grade gelatin, which meets the strict requirements for use in pharmaceutical products. The procedure for capsule production is to first form a layer of gelatin film on a stainless steel mold. Then the gelatin film dries and hardens to form capsules, which are then removed from the mold. There are generally two sizes of molds, one for making capsule bodies and the other with a larger diameter for making capsule caps.
